Well I was kinda expecting this and it didn't disappoint.

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

Sorry don't know how to not put the whole of this up, so you got it all.

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Just started teaching again after a couple of months off and I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it, though can't say the 6.30 drive into Beckton is my favourite way of starting a day.
Only at Beckton for a week then I'm assured I can have something nearer to home.
I leave with only this question - Is Beckton the Chav capital? Cause if it isn't I really don't want to go where it is...

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

My CRB - like a police check - has finally come through and I can start working again.

Typical of the system, I started my previous school before the crb system came in to force and though the school should have done my check I was still on the waiting list, meaning that I couldn't work until I got one. After taking seeming months to get here I was starting to give up hope then there it was.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Saturday I gave [info]magicbucket a Dutch Oven (-10 points). In September I broke [info]catpooka's X-Box (-12 points). Last Tuesday I didn't flush (-1 points). Last Thursday I gave [info]songbird78 a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Last Friday I put money in [info]fuscolucia's expired parking meter (14 points).

Overall, I've been nice (41 points). For Christmas I deserve a shiny red ball!

Sincerely,
taitonator

that school kids could be vaguely creative!
Someone was asking why Taitonator? Well it's my favourite nickname that kids call me at school. Apparently given after a rampage through a fight between 2 6'+ year 11's who thought that since I was only little and a woman they could ignore my presence and continue their fight. I disabused them of the notion then frogmarched them to the caretakers office where they picked up gloves and bin bags and proceeded to pick up litter in the playground any time they were free and for an hour after school for a week. Needless to say word got round that I didn't approve of fighting or detentions and that I am mean and horrible....bless!

Any other ideas for cruel and unusual punishments to take the place of detentions would be welcome.
So far I have picking the chewing gum off of the underside of tables, writing an essay on various topics relating to the offence with each vowel in a different colour and no 2 adjacent vowels allowed to be in the same colour (good for english links), apologising to the class in assembly for interupting their learning (sometimes sung! but only if they're smart-arses and p**s me off), and cleaning my mugs (which have been left to grow cultures for a few weeks).

Now I know some people are thinking, oh my God she must be mental, I'm glad my children aren't at her school, but detentions? Why? In the schools I've taught in the detention is a joke - if a kid turns up in the first place. The idea behind these is that you only have to hand them out a couple of times before the majority of the school understand that bad behaviour won't be tolerated so don't do it. So yes I am a cow but surely the majority of kids, who don't cause trouble, deserve just as much attention as the "naughty" kids if not more, so I'm damn well going to teach those who need it and want it.

A very happy birthday to my old best friend from school Karen Larson. We may not have kept in touch but I always remember you on this day....bizarre

Feeling much better today after having a big slagging sesh with friend from school yesturday but stayed up way too late last night playing sudoku and watching old CSI's on five US which kept breaking up and thus annoying me greatly.

Yes I know I am a very sad housewife.

On the plus side Mum is over today and has taken Beth to soft play and will buy me lunch later - huzzah!! and Steff and Matt with Tom are coming for coffee. Will be lovely to see them since I don't think we've even spoken for about a month - my god has it been that long - woopsy. I'm expecting an update on nuptules (oo-er).

Feeling very apathetic and crap this morning. I'm thinking of changing careers since I really don't want to deal with the little darlings any more but what do I do? I have a music degree, a music PGCE and have been teaching music for more years than I care to count and, apart from sewing and lrp, I can't think of anything else that really gets my juices flowing! Yes I know sewing - not particularly pc and updated but a good way of not having to think of anything else, very soporiphic.

Course then I have to think about the small one, so I can't take a career break to train in something else.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to stick with it until we win the lottery!

Well I never the first weekend we've had at home since I can't remember when. It's been good and Beth has created some fire-works of art. It's amazing what you can do with a toilet roll and glitter.

The reinactment of the Battle of the Somme took it's annual place last night in the annuls of Taitdom and so B was up till stupid o'clock thus interupting my smooth watching of Master and Commander - oh well will just have to buy the DVD. But I forgive her everything when I see her watching Strictly - she has a v. good cha cha cha and apparently most ballroom dances require jumping until you make yourself sick.

Well Happy Guy Fawkes Night - and no V for Vendetta this year then?

By the looks of the fire engines continually running up and down the road we are probably in for the Battle of Trafalgar tonight - sigh - oh well no sleep tonight then!

Well, finally I've managed to set up my own LJ instead of hijacking roboteye's. Still no work but I'm catching up on my DVD watching and had forgotten how good LOTR was, though I have to say Much Ado About Nothing is still my firm favourite.

Been chatting with Mark and Magic_bucket which always makes me feel better, they are probably the nicest people I know.
